About the film: The Dust Bowl, a two-part, four-hour series , will chronicle the worst man-made ecological disaster in American history, in which a decade-long drought in the southern Plains during the 1930s combined with the “Great Plow-Up” of the topsoil to create catastrophic dust storms, incredible human suffering and equally incredible stories of human perseverance.

LISTEN Traveler’s Dream (MM110):listen to Maggie Sansone’s LUGHNASA:http://www.maggiesmusic.com/products/mm110.html
The summer solstice around June 21 is a major celestial event … the longest day and the shortest night of the year. It’s a time for celebration among lovers of Celtic music and mythology. Sol + stice derives from Latin words meaning “sun” + “to stand still.” As the days lengthen, the sun rises higher and higher until it seems to stand still in the sky. The Northern Hemisphere celebrates in June, but the people on the Southern half of the earth have their longest summer day in December. Maggie Sansone’s CD ( MM110) A Traveler’s Dream includes a set of music called: The Lughnasa Set: The Green Fields of Woodford / Summertime / A Morning in Summer.
June 17 ( Sunday). 4-6pm. Celebrate the Summer Solstice and Father’s Day too. A family event at Historic London Town and Gardens, 839 Londontown Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. Adult Tickets $15, children uner 12 free. Info: 410-222-1919. http://www.historiclondontown.com/
